  1. Banded Demoiselle, Calopteryx splendens: Common, especially along the river


  2. Large Red Damselfly, Pyrrhosoma nymphula: Occasional
  3. Azure Damselfly, Coenagrion puella: Very common
  4. Variable Damselfly, Coenagrion pulchellum: a few records for 1998
  5. Common Blue Damselfly, Enallagma cyathigerum (pictured right): Very common
  6. Blue-tailed Damselfly, Ischnura elegans: Common
    Migrant Hawker
  7. Red-eyed Damselfly, Erythromma najas: Numerous on the river


  8. Hairy Hawker, Brachytron pratense: First record 23rd May 1999!
  9. Migrant Hawker, Aeshna mixta (pictured right): Common
  10. Southern Hawker, Aeshna cyanaea: Common
  11. Brown Hawker, Aeshna grandis: Reasonably common
  12. Emperor Dragonfly, Anax imperator: Reasonably common


  13. Four-spotted Chaser, Libellula quadrimaculata: Reasonably common

  14. Broad-bodied Chaser, Libellula depressa: Occasional
  15. Black-tailed Skimmer, Orthetrum cancellatum (pictured right):Common
  16. Common Darter, Sympetrum striolatum: Common
